You’re Stabbing Yourself In The Leg.
Ok, well this post is pretty much a byproduct of my thought processes over the weekend. The first RSBANDB-related thing I was thinking about was the E-drama last week over several threads created in the sandbox by immature people looking to pick a fight over something as trivial as a computer game, my first thought was to write a post telling these people how stupid and childish both they and their arguments are, but alas I decided against that, because it made me think of a much wider issue; the community atmosphere in general. It’s been rather a bone of contention over the past few months or so, rising and falling in the many agendas of RSBANDB.
Sometimes it seems normal and perfectly fine, other times the mood is somewhat more confrontational and, for want of a better phrase, angsty. I’ve often quizzed myself as to why we, as a community, seem to fluctuate between harmony and confrontation. Why sometimes we can agree and disagree maturely and why other times it must be taken to much more childish and snide levels. Why sometimes people are helpful and friendly to newbies and old timers alike, while other times people can treat both with coldness and a clear underlying tone of superiority. As if the fact they joined a few months earlier, or have a few hundred more posts, or have a different rank image under their name, makes them somehow more superior.
The community as a whole, belongs to all of us, Mike and Shane may own the forum, they may own the site, but the community cannot be owned by any one person. Everybody who posts on the forum, let it be one post, or one thousand posts is a member and contributor to the community, and no matter what rank image, no matter what joined date, no matter what post number, as far as ‘community’ goes we ARE all equal as human beings. Some of you need to realize that. You are not superior to anybody, nobody is.
Consider the alpha male theory, where one tries to become the dominant in the species.
Course, that’s usually more efficient with beasts. I guess these people are equal to beasts in their social skills.

Well said Shane.
