Things That Piss Me Off

As many of you will know, I’m a fairly angry person, here’s what makes me angry:
(In no particular order)

DISCLAIMER - If you happen to fit in to any of these categorys do not assume it means I dislike you, do not assume you are the reason for me being pissed off by whatever particular thing you may fit in to. Chances are the people who read this blog don’t fit in to many of the following categories, but if you do, it’s nothing personally. Really.

1. People who talk (irl) to me sporadicallywhen I have headphones on
I don’t have a problem with people who actually talk to me, when I’m listening to music or anything else, but it pisses me off when people interrupt my listening, talk to me for a few minutes, then go away (at which point I usually resume my listening) then come back five minutes later and talk to me again, and thus repeat the former several times.

2. Moderate Christians
People who are obviously bright enough to see the bible is a load of bullshit and evolution is in fact true but still labour for the cause that their is a god, and while all ‘evidence’ has been refuted, the only evidence these people rely on is the sort of ‘personal’ evidence that can neither be proven or disproven. “I know in my heart there is a god” Well I know in my heart I have an invisible 3rd arm, you can’t disprove that. Using the personal experience argument is something religious types love, because it can’t be disproven. But anybody could use the personal experience argument for anything, and nobody else could disprove it. Thus making it worthless. The way religious types insult their critics also pisses me off, especially as 99% of the time the religious zealots are the ones claiming their views have been ‘insulted’. Go throw yourself in a fucking pit, the world doesn’t need you.

3. The Majority Of ‘Graphic Designers’
90% of these people can’t take criticisms and go beserk at anybody who dares to say anything slightly negative of their work, melodramatic children who throw a tantrum at anybody who tries to criticize, or sometimes even offer advice on how they could improve. Most of the time these people will try and defend themself by attacking the person criticizing, most often about their art work.

4. Attention Whores
What you lack in character you make up for in patheticness, If the only way you can get gratification is to try and make as many people as you can like you, again, go throw yourself in a fucking pit.

5. Old People
Now not all old people, I do understand that some are really, nice old people, but the majority of them are rude, spiteful old people who need to hurry up and die. How sick it makes me when I read letters sent in to papers and magazines and internet sites by old people complaining about how young people are so rude, and so disrespectful, in the majority of my experience, they have been the ones that have been rude and disrespectful. The number of times I have recieved dirty looks from old people is unncountable, I’ve had old people walk in to me in crowded streets and one even knocked me over, and rather than apologize or even ask if I was ok, she simply shot me a dirty look, Had I done the same to her I’d probably be up on assault charges. They think simply because they are old they deserve to be at the front of every line and that they should be everyones top priority. My only consolation is that I know they’ll die soon.

6. People Who Don’t Read (Books)
I can not understand people who do not read books regularly, be it for education or leisure. Granted yes we live in a technological age, we have televisions, computers, the internet and various games consoles. But it still amazes me how many people neglect books. Now in all fairness, I don’t read a great, I don’t read half as much as I used to, And I do spend much more time on the Computer than I do reading. But even I make time now and then, for at least a few hours a week, to read a book. Reading broadens the mind, if you’d rather stay narrow minded, fine.

7. People Who Have An Issue With Swearing
Now I’ve had a few comments in the past, and a few people on MSN, have told me to tone down the swearing in my blog posts. WELL FUCK YOU (I didn’t mean that). It annoys me when people have a problem with swearing to this degree. Yes I can understand you don’t want somebody saying fuck every other word when you’re talking to them, or when you see President whatever his name is giving a speech you don’t really want to hear what country he’s going to “fucking nuke” next. But this is my blog, and if I want to swear here, I will. If you have a problem with it. The X button is right up there, I don’t pretend that I find swearing socially acceptable in every circumstance, but I also find it hard to believe how some people can have a problem with something that is literally a few letters strung together. I swear when I want, I know when I can swear, and when it’s innaproriate, and I think I can judge that well enough without having anyone tell me.

8. People Who Defend Something Just Because They Use It/have used it
Basically people who feel the need to defend something (usually a kind of product) simply because they use it. “Because I use it, it is the best” NEVER get in to a debate with these kinds of people, I learned that the hard way. It’s much like the whole theist debate, you can’t make people see sense, you can’t make people see what is probable, and what is logical. They will see what they want to see, and this is certainly true of people who fit in this category. Take for example; web browsers. You’ll see a lot of people who fit in to this category flaunting their browser in the now mammoth browser wars topic “X Browser is better because… *insert crappy reason*” In reality, it doesn’t matter. Do you really think I’m going to switch the browser I use for yours because it loads 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000001 seconds faster? No.. So why would you bother pressing it on me? Because you feel the need to tell everyone how great it is because *you* use it. Defend something because it is worth defending, not because you find yourself stuck with it and too proud to admit there might be something better out there.

9. Creationists
JUST NO. I don’t have to put anything, the idea of a god setting the world in motion and letting it develop is plausable, however improbable, the idea of a god intricately designing every aspect of the world and the universe..? I have one question to anyone who seriously believes creationism; ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME??!

10. Greedy People
Take what you need, why anyone would take more than they needed is beyond me. Greed is a horrible quality. Your parents obviously made a lot of mistakes if you feel the need to have more than a fair share of something.

11. Liberals
Liberalism is based on the principle that people should have a great deal of individual freedom. Look at the world and look at the people and you’ll see the vast majority can’t handle personal freedom, and thus shouldn’t have it. I seriously believe that.

12. People Who Feel The Annoyminity The Internet Gives Is A Stage For Moronic behaviour
Just because nobody knows who you *really* are, doesn’t give you license to go around acting like a retard. Spamming forums with crap, insulting people, abusing people all because you can escape any repercussions? Go fuck yourself. The only thing more pathetic than your insults is your lack of a spine.

13. People Who Play Mind Games
Say what you have to say, just say it. I don’t want you to try and influence how I think, or what I say, or what I do. So many people I’ve known have tried this shit with me, I must have moron written on my forehead or something. But if there is anything I am ultrasensitive to is when people start playing mind games. You can’t control me, so stop trying.

14. Pseudo-Intellectuals (Particularly On Net Forums)
Trying to make long posts with big words on internet forums does not make you look smart, nor does it make you look sophisticated, anyone can spend 50 minutes writing a 2 parapgraph post littered with 12-14 letter words with the aid of a thesaurus, try holding live conversation with the length of words you do in your posts, you will fail.

15. People Who Try To Hard To Be Funny
Yup, cracking a joke now and then is just fine, even if they’re bad ones (hell, I’d know) but when you keep trying over and over to try and say something funny, and every time your comical failures are greeted with silence. TAKE A HINT.

I could write more, and I have written this over the space of about a week, adding to it now and then. But I think this is quite enough.

If you hated me before reading this, you probably want me to get hit by a bus now. :D

  1. *wub*

    Apparently using

  2. I agree with 2,3,4,5,9, and 11.

    2. I’m of the belief that you can believe what you want but don’t shove it down my throat please.

    3. I’ve seen this before in both graphics AND code. Some people just can’t handle it that their graphics/code is shit. People who also think they know something but really don’t.

    4. Same as you.

    5. I’ve had similar experiences. I do say that they think just because they’re old they’re entitled to special treatment. What they fail to realize is that one day I may make a product or revolutionary item that could prolong their life.

    9. It has already been proven that life started with the big bang. It’s also theorized that the big bang has happened many times before. Each time it happens the universe is formed with a different set of dynamics. We’re just lucky enough that this time it had all the right elements for our creation. In my new astronomy class it was stated that everything started with the big bang and this is right. I’m sure there has to be a few creationists in that class that went home with their knickers ina knot.

    11. Yea.. All liberals are the same.

  3. Lol. Fucking owned.

    Good post Brad ^.^

  4. Woah. Long post.

    Lol 1010.

  6. Great post, and well-explained. Still, I feel the need to be disagreeable. Bear with me, if you please :)

    2. Faith’s not personal experience. Faith’s believing in what you do not see. If you’ve got as much faith in a third arm, by all means, go ahead. It’s probably there, in that case.

    5. Majority of the old people that don’t complain don’t feel the need to voice their opinions that obviously, period. Perhaps they just don’t have enough material to give compliments. When people like you judge them by the minority of their counterparts, I do wonder why they haven’t anything good to say, hmm?

    7. I don’t have an issue with swearing. I don’t like swearing myself because overusing swear words betrays a lack of intellect, or just plain laziness, whether you intend for it or not. Swear words are cheap. Insisting on using them repetitively, regardless of the context does nothing for the audience. The desired effect is lost, and it becomes more of a joke for the spectator.

    8. Who but the person in question is fit to judge people’s motives for defending the things they do?

    9. Chance or design? I prefer design.

    That’s why He’s called God.

And I’m sure, “JUST NO” is such an open-minded view.

    11. Look at the world, and you’ll find that a large majority don’t even have personal freedom.

Ever heard of gender disparity in China? I’m assuming you’re a guy. Ever been told to convince your mom that you want another sibling just because you don’t have a brother?

That’s just one example, and perhaps not the most effective. Ever had to live under a government that restricts even internet access? Ever lived under a government that considers the gathering of more than four people in a given public place an offence?

Ever had your personal freedom in any way restricted? Ever had to rebel or comply exactly according to the wishes of those who would attempt to restrict your personal freedom?

If liberalism’s going to get people who don’t enjoy personal freedom precisely that, then why stop it?

If you have license to judge what it’ll cause, I have license to tell you what good it’ll do. It’s unreasonable to allow the few people who do not value their personal freedom to stand in the way of those who do. It’s like saying, just because *some* people might shoplift, commit some crime or the other, we should lock everyone up.

    13. “I am ultrasensitive.” Now doesn’t that explain it all…

    14. Who does go about trying to write long posts with the aid of a thesaurus and dictionary?

Why, I wonder. Do they exist, people who don’t use a thesaurus or dictionary, perhaps, but simply have a good vocabulary?

I’m partial to long posts because I’d rather explain myself fully rather than come back again and again. I’m only free or willing enough to posts on forums during the weekend, after all. I don’t use a thesaurus and dictionary for something as mundane as a forum post. Time isn’t that cheap. That, by the way, is a widely-held view.

“I’m of the belief that you can believe what you want, but don’t shove it down my throat please.” Exactly. Don’t shove aethist beliefs down my throat, because that’s what many try to do.

In any case, I agree with the general reasons behind why those other groups of people listed piss you off. People who can’t take criticism, people who refuse to read…

Some things I didn’t even think about, like the headphones. Never had headphones myself, but it sounds annoying.

I’m sorry if I was harsh in my criticism. That’s just the way I am. It was a well-written post, anyway. Nice site you have here.

  7. Heh, your reply was almost as long as my original post :P

It’s just my opinions, I’m not definitively stating that what I think is fact, and I knew a lot of people were going to disagree.

  8. “…but the majority of them are rude, spiteful old people who need to hurry up and die.”

    X-D

  9. Why did I not see this post before?? Oh well…

I play mind games. Not to change the way people think, I just like messing with them.

  10. Brad’s a bitch, if you’re gonna say something like FUCK YOU don’t take it back.. especially in the SAME FUCKING SENTENCE

  11. And you’re really big going and posting on a 6 month old blog post. Grow up kid.
