Good whatever-the-time-of-the-day-where-you-are Ladies and Gents.

Now for those of you who’ve been reading my blog for a long time. You may remember that early last year a flurry of posts concerning a fan site called Draynor.net happened to emerge from the cavern of hate I like to call my mouth. These were concerning shit throwing that was going on between myself, MQ and several Draynor members (or ex draynor members as they were then, like Christ, that bitch of a site keeps coming back and won’t ever fucking die). Anyway, it all died down and I continued on with my existence, I’d even forgotten about them completely for the most part, until last night on MSN I was to linked to a post on the Draynor.net forums, it reads as follows;

I agree 100% when it comes to what you said about the signatures. Other sites can’t even compete anymore. In fact, the only site that ever had a chance was leetscape, but they copied Clooth’s signature layouts and poses anyways.

And don’t even get me started about Rsbandb. They just don’t have an ounce of artistic talent in them.

It was a response by a Draynor mod named Alec to your standard ass kissing thread by some random community member. Now let me break down this little fuckers post piece by piece.

First thing, leetscape did not copy Clooth, clooth copied an open source code that leetscape used. And as it’s open source, anyone can use it (for the idiots out there). This came out July of last year and was posted on MQs blog . I remember distinctly at the time that several of the draynor retards we were arguing with were moaning that leetscape copied them. For one that shows that clooth is about as open with his staff and community members as I am with my anger management councillor, and secondly that he has all the dignity and grace of a 12 year old pariah whos only social outlet is runescape, actually saying that is probably not far from the truth.

Now on to the next point

Now at first glance this point seems so laughable it does not even require refutation. First lets look at Draynors sigs, since if he’s saying we have no artistic talent, then he must be implying that Draynor are to the RS sig community what Monet was to the landscape painting scene. Lets take this little bastards sig for an example; two rs characters on a red background with some standard fonted text, Now I don’t claim to know anything about graphics, but even I know that’s about as artistic as Owen Wilsons nose and not even as good looking. One look at RSBANDB’s new layout should satisfy anyone with functioning eyes that this little twat doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

    It’s truly depressing to hear of that poor bastard’s lacking signatures, I myself merely dabbled in the creation of signatures for under a month and I turned out some quite impressive graphics. Granted, no of the images are mine and all were merely blended, but it isn’t difficult in any way to create something of mediocre quality.

    My top 6 of around 40-50. They each took around 15-20 minutes to locate/copy/merge pictures and I still no nothing about the lasso tool. I’ll improve with practice but it goes to show how easy it is to create anything even half worth looking at.

    I still maintain that RSBAND needs a non-black solid-color background, but I was impressed by the quality of the new look.

    You know what’s funnier? Even with them insulting our signatures on zybez.net by putting there own url over our signatures, which just degrades them to even be related to draynor but they recently celebrated 10k signatures in the works.

    There not even remotely close to the amount of signatures we have used and ours are constantly removing inactive ones. Seems like a random know nothing idiot blabbering his mouth off to me.

    Heh, funny how LeetSigs are still getting a lot of active signatures (hence the counter on the front page).
    I think it’s pathetic how Zybez blocked out all back-links, however W13 (owner of Zybez) offered me the same thing he offered Draynor (can read all about it in my blog on my site) for a more in-depth view of it.

    Anyway, it’s a shame really that’s why I’m starting something new with LeetScape what’s never been done before, wish me luck :)

    The whole idea of formatting out the code that stats signatures use to link back to their origin is a low blow. Very few Runescape sites are profitable, most of us do this primarily as a side hobby. So when you screw over other sites who exist solely for the user (since none of us even plan on making money from fan sites), it’s just pathetic.

    This isn’t about “Well he said ___, should we believe him?” The facts are right here. Zybez blocks non-Draynor stats sig link-backs. This isn’t just about rival fan-sites, this is about attempting to prevent users from accessing content produced from the original source. The concept of that in itself is fundamentally wrong and I see no reason why any of you are even suggesting that you partly support Draynor in this.

    My comment was about how I believe that we’ve falsely accused them of using open source, and also to tell off that asshole (3hitu). If I hinted that I support Draynor in any way, it was about believing LeetScape has copied everything they’ve done, because it’s pretty obvious that they have.

    If you’re wondering, in no way do I support Alec with his last comment about RSBANDB either.
