You know it pisses me off when I read articles or stories about how people have had their ‘lives ruined’ by computers games, or drug addiction, or.. well you know, any major distraction that they can’t resist. I hate how these articles always paint out whatever the distraction is as some kind of class A drug (well unless it actually is a class A drug) and something that should be censored, banned or that people should be cautious of. You know what people should be cautious of? The fucking lack of self control they possess.

It never ceases to amaze me how some people will find anything they can to blame their failures on. But will never even think it may be because they lack self control. That’s what it’s down to. Every time you read about some genius who was touted to do brilliant things with his life but wasted away because he spent 10 hours a day playing World Of Warcraft rather than studying. Or some child prodigy who wasted away when they put down a book and found the TV. My point is these people can’t be as great as is made out if they fell down and crumbled the first time they came across a distraction. Life is fucking filled with them. If you can’t avoid distractions you are not going to go far in life, and blaming that on anything other than your lack of self control is pathetic.

You may have brains.
You may get straight A’s.
You may have an IQ of 160.
But if you lack self control you aren’t going to achieve shit in life. And it’s not the fault of anything or anyone. Just yourself.
